Reversing Audio – Creating a reverse cymbal
So you got the perfect sounding cymbal, here I’ll show you how to reverse it.
Assuming it is an Apple Loop, you would not be able to do any functions on it via the ‘Sample Editor’. Therefore, we first need to convert it into an ‘Audio File’.
1. Select the cymbal’s audio region.
2. Create a copy of it, on its left, by holding ‘Option’ key and clicking and dragging the region to the left.
2. Select ‘Audio > Convert Regions to New Audio Files’ from the menubar in the ‘Arrange Window’.
3. Make sure to save the file in ANY format (i.e. Wave) other than AIFF and CAF, as it would create Apple Loops and thus, you will not be able to run any functions on them.
4. Once done, you can now run the ‘Reverse’ function on the audio region from the ‘Sample Editor’.
